I use his tool to many things.
• Real-time monitoring and alerting for business-critical systems. (diskspace, QSYSOPR messages, Jobs etc)
• Masterdata checks, is all data filled out correctly, otherwise send an email notification to a user
• Masterdata correction, if conditions are meet, change the data automatically (using SQL or API)
• Send notification, daily sales figures to individual salespeople (all collected by SQL)
• Dashboards – either in a browser inside my application or on a TV. KPI’s, daily order intake, productions measurements, statistical information,
• Merge information from IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL server
I will show a lot of examples on how Logitrans have improved master data quality, get relevant information/warnings on dashboard or email.
Create the relevant SQL statement, decide what to do with it, publish it on dashboards, store it in a different database, send it by email, use it in an API call. Schedule the task and you Butler will monitor this in the future.
The tools has built in functions for Infor M3, but can be used in any environment.
Anyone with a little SQL knowledge can use this tool.
